Description

A nostalgic treat that blends rich chocolate and warmth, perfect for winter gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • ⅔ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • a pinch of salt
  • Optional mix-ins: chopped nuts, mini marshmallows, crushed peppermint

Instructions

  1. Line an 8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together sugar, cocoa powder, and salt.
  3. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Add sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract, stirring until well mixed.
  4. Add the dry mixture to the saucepan, stirring continuously until thickens.
  5. If using, fold in nuts or marshmallows before finishing cooking.
  6. Pour the fudge into the prepared dish and smooth the top. Allow to cool, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set.
  7. Lift the fudge out, peel off parchment, and cut into squares.

Notes

Use low heat to prevent burning and ensure a smooth texture. Add a splash of milk if the fudge is too thick.
