- 4 salmon filets
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Olive oil for frying
- Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Pat the salmon dry and season with salt and pepper; set aside.
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil; sear the salmon skin-side down for about 5 minutes until crispy.
- Flip the salmon and pour the honey garlic sauce over the top; reduce heat to medium-low and cook for an additional 5-6 minutes, basting occasionally.
- Once cooked to your desired doneness, remove from heat and squeeze fresh lemon juice on top. Garnish if desired.
- Serve hot with your favorite sides.
Notes
For a vegan option, substitute honey with maple syrup. For gluten-free, use tamari instead of soy sauce.
