- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2–3 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, ensuring not to overmix.
- In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon for the swirl.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan, sprinkle half of the cinnamon mixture, layer the remaining batter, and finish with the rest of the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center.
- For the glaze, mix powdered sugar with milk until smooth and drizzle over the warm cake once slightly cooled.
- Serve warm or at room temperature, and enjoy!
