Ingredients

- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sliced almonds (or pecans/walnuts)
- Zest of 1 orange (or lemon)
- 8 oz semisweet chocolate (for dipping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
- Gradually add the flour, followed by the sliced almonds and orange zest, mixing until combined.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until edges are golden; let cool slightly.
- Melt the semisweet chocolate and dip half of each cookie, allowing excess to drip off.
- Let cool completely until chocolate firms up.
Notes
For a dairy-free version, replace butter with coconut oil. You can also use maple syrup or honey in place of granulated sugar.
