- ¾ cup brown sugar

- 2 cups chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually incorporate the dry mixture into the wet mixture.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Using a cookie cutter, cut the dough into heart shapes and place on baking sheets.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes, until the edges are golden.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
Notes
For variations, try adding a sprinkle of sea salt or mix in nuts. Refrigerate dough if it’s too sticky before cutting.
