Delightful heart-shaped cookies infused with rich chocolate chips, perfect for celebrations of love and friendship.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually incorporate the dry mixture into the wet mixture.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Using a cookie cutter, cut the dough into heart shapes and place on baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 8–10 minutes, until the edges are golden.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.

Notes

For variations, try adding a sprinkle of sea salt or mix in nuts. Refrigerate dough if it’s too sticky before cutting.
