Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chopped hazelnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8 inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. Melt butter and dark chocolate together in a medium saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together granulated sugar and eggs until frothy.
  4. Gradually add melted chocolate mixture to the egg and sugar mix, stirring constantly.
  5. Sift in flour and gently fold until just combined. Fold in chopped hazelnuts.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth out. Sprinkle reserved hazelnuts on top.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until edges are firm and a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Let cool before cutting into squares and serving.
