Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Green food coloring
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, blend the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter or oil until creamy. Add eggs one at a time and mix in the vanilla extract, followed by the green food coloring.
  4. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into your wet mix to form a soft dough. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  5. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of the dough, roll into balls, and coat in powdered sugar.
  6. Place the cookie balls on the prepared baking sheet about two inches apart and bake for 9-11 minutes.
  7. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a couple of minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Avoid overmixing the dough and adjust baking time based on your oven. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week.
