Description

Delicious gluten-free scones made with almond flour, offering a nutty flavor and perfect for an afternoon tea or brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups almond flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter or dairy-free alternative
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1 egg or flaxseed meal (for vegan option)
  • 1/2 cup milk or alternative milk
  • Optional mix-ins: chocolate chips, dried fruits, herbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine almond flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the honey and egg, followed by the milk until just combined.
  5. If you’re adding any mix-ins, fold them in gently.
  6. Dust your work surface with almond flour and pat the dough into a rectangle, about one inch thick.
  7. Cut the dough into triangles or rounds and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes until lightly golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving, then enjoy plain or with a smear of jam.

Notes

Avoid overmixing the dough for tender scones. Keeping butter cold helps achieve flaky layers.
