Description

A delightful dish balancing rich umami flavors with the freshness of asparagus, perfect for family dinners and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound beef strips (flank steak or sirloin)
  • 1 bunch fresh asparagus, trimmed and cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients by slicing beef into thin strips against the grain and trimming asparagus.
  2. Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Add beef strips in a single layer and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes until browned, then remove from skillet.
  4. In the same skillet, add more oil if needed, sauté asparagus and garlic for 3-4 minutes until asparagus is tender yet crisp and garlic is fragrant.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet and add soy sauce. Toss all ingredients together and cook for another minute.
  6. Serve immediately, garnished with sesame seeds or fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

For variation, substitute beef with chicken or tofu. Serve with rice or crusty bread to soak up the delicious juices.
