- 2 cups diced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for serving
Instructions
- Peel, core, and dice apples into small pieces.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and vanilla, then mix into the dry ingredients.
- Gently fold in the diced apples.
- Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) in a deep skillet.
- Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Remove and drain on paper towels, then sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Notes
