Description

Delicious bite-sized squares filled with tender beef, melted cheese, and wrapped in flaky biscuit dough, perfect for family gatherings and celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 beef roast (chuck or brisket)
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 onion (sweet or yellow)
  • 4 cloves garlic (fresh)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary
  • 8 oz provolone or mozzarella cheese
  • 1 package refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 2 tablespoons butter (melted)

Instructions

  1. Brown the beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat, then let it rest.
  2. Sauté chopped onions and minced garlic in the same skillet until fragrant.
  3. Deglaze the pan with a bit of beef broth.
  4. Return beef to the pan, add remaining broth and herbs, cover, and simmer for about 2 hours.
  5. Shred the beef and mix it back with the juices.
  6. Preheat the oven and roll out the biscuit dough.
  7. Spread shredded beef mixture across the dough, top with cheese, fold, and seal edges.
  8. Brush with melted butter and bake until golden brown (15-20 minutes).
  9. Serve with au jus for dipping.

Notes

For a lighter version, use low-sodium broth and reduced-fat cheese. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days.
