Description
Deliciously fluffy cupcakes infused with the vibrant flavors of fresh oranges, perfect for family gatherings and celebrations.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- ½ cup milk (or plant-based alternative)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the orange juice and zest.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Be gentle to avoid overmixing.
- Spoon the batter into prepared liners, filling each about two-thirds full. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Prepare your favorite orange-flavored frosting.
- Frost the cooled cupcakes and enjoy with loved ones!
Notes
For a gluten-free option, substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free blend. To make it dairy-free, swap butter with coconut oil and use a plant-based milk.
