Description

Deliciously spicy and sweet meatballs that evoke warmth and connection, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Ground Meat (beef or pork)
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs (Italian or panko)
  • 1 Egg
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Ginger, grated
  • 3 Green Onions, chopped
  • 2 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Sweet Chili Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • 1/2 tsp Crushed Red Pepper Flakes

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground meat with breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped green onions, and soy sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  2. Roll the mixture into small balls, about 1-inch in diameter, and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, add a splash of oil and sauté the meatballs until browned on all sides.
  4. While meatballs are cooking, whisk together sweet chili sauce, honey, and a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes in a small bowl.
  5. Once browned, pour the glaze over the meatballs, allowing it to coat them. Simmer for a few minutes.
  6. Transfer glazed meatballs to a serving platter and garnish with additional chopped green onions.

Notes

Tip: Lightly oil your hands when rolling meatballs to prevent sticking. Broil the meatballs after glazing for added caramelization if desired.
