Description
Deliciously spicy and sweet meatballs that evoke warmth and connection, perfect for family gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb Ground Meat (beef or pork)
- 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs (Italian or panko)
- 1 Egg
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp Fresh Ginger, grated
- 3 Green Onions, chopped
- 2 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1/4 cup Sweet Chili Sauce
- 2 tbsp Honey
- 1/2 tsp Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground meat with breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped green onions, and soy sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
- Roll the mixture into small balls, about 1-inch in diameter, and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add a splash of oil and sauté the meatballs until browned on all sides.
- While meatballs are cooking, whisk together sweet chili sauce, honey, and a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes in a small bowl.
- Once browned, pour the glaze over the meatballs, allowing it to coat them. Simmer for a few minutes.
- Transfer glazed meatballs to a serving platter and garnish with additional chopped green onions.
Notes
Tip: Lightly oil your hands when rolling meatballs to prevent sticking. Broil the meatballs after glazing for added caramelization if desired.
