Ingredients
- Filet Mignon
- Heavy Cream
- Mushrooms (cremini or shiitake)
- Garlic (minced)
- White Wine
- Chicken or Beef Broth

Instructions
- Bring the filet mignon to room temperature and season with salt and pepper.
- In a hot skillet, sear the filet mignon for 3-4 minutes on each side until browned. Remove and let rest.
- Sauté the mushrooms in the same skillet until browned, about 5 minutes, then set aside.
- Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until fragrant.
- Deglaze the pan with white wine, reducing it by half.
- Add heavy cream and broth, simmering for 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Stir in the sautéed mushrooms and fresh herbs, then season to taste.
- Plate the rested filet mignon and spoon the creamy sauce over each steak.
Notes
For a lighter version, you can substitute half-and-half for heavy cream and use vegetable broth for a vegetarian option.
