- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup colorful holiday sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (3-5 minutes).
- Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle colorful holiday sprinkles on top.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
- Optionally, frost with your favorite buttercream or cream cheese frosting.
Notes
For a lighter version, consider using unsweetened applesauce in place of some of the butter.
