Description

Delightful and easy-to-make sugar cookie bars topped with creamy frosting and colorful sprinkles, perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ¼ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Frosting (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).
  3. Add eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla and almond extracts; mix until fully combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt; gradually add to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top with a spatula.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until edges are golden and a toothpick comes out clean from the center.
  7. Let cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Frost as desired and cut into squares to serve.

Notes

Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting for neater edges. Use parchment paper for easy removal.
