  • 1 lb large uncooked shrimp, peeled
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine (or chicken broth)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
  2. Melt the butter with olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, then add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 1 minute).
  3. Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until they turn pink, then flip and cook for another 2 minutes.
  4. Pour in the white wine and let it simmer for 2 minutes.
  5. Stir in the lemon zest and juice, and add the red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper to taste.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in the fresh parsley.
  7. Serve immediately over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread.
