Ingredients

  • 1 pack frozen gyoza
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 1 cup mushrooms (shiitake or button), sliced
  • 2 cups chopped cabbage or bok choy
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and grated ginger, stirring until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  2. Pour in the broth and bring it to a gentle simmer.
  3. Add the chopped vegetables (cabbage or bok choy) and let them simmer for about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Carefully add the frozen gyoza to the pot and cook for 6-8 minutes until they float to the top.
  5. Sprinkle in soy sauce and adjust seasoning to taste, adding rice vinegar as desired.
  6. Ladle the soup into bowls and garnish with fresh herbs.
