Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until fully blended.
- Crush cornflakes in a plastic bag until they resemble breadcrumbs.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt butter in it.
- Dip each slice of bread into the custard mixture, soaking briefly on each side.
- Press the wetted bread into the crushed cornflakes to coat evenly.
- Cook the coated bread slices in the skillet for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
- Transfer to a warm plate, drizzle with maple syrup, and dust with powdered sugar. Serve with fresh berries or whipped cream if desired.
Notes
For a vegan version, replace eggs with a mixture of ground flaxseed and water. Ensure the skillet is not overcrowded for even cooking.
