Description

A comforting and flavorful slow-cooked meatloaf that brings warmth to any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Ground beef (80/20 or ground turkey)
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Milk or chicken broth (or oat milk for non-dairy)
  • 1 Egg (or flaxseed meal as an egg substitute)
  • 1 Onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Italian herbs
  • Ketchup or BBQ sauce for topping

Instructions

  1. Prep the ingredients: Finely chop onion and garlic, sauté in olive oil until translucent.
  2. Mix the ingredients: In a large bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, sautéed onions and garlic, milk, egg, and seasonings. Mix gently.
  3. Shape the loaf: Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan or shape it in the crockpot.
  4. Add the topping: Spread your chosen glaze over the top.
  5. Cook low and slow: Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 4-5 hours until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (for beef) or 165°F (for turkey).
  6. Let it rest: If possible, let the meatloaf rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
  7. Serve and enjoy: Slice and serve with sides like mashed potatoes or sautéed veggies.

Notes

Experiment with flavorings and enjoy creative toppings. Letting the meatloaf rest before slicing helps retain juices.
