Description

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken thighs or breasts
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried sage
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken in the crockpot and season with salt and pepper.
  2. In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup, chicken broth, soy sauce, onion, garlic, thyme, sage, and black pepper until well blended.
  3. Pour the gravy mixture over the chicken, coating it well.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.
  5. Shred the chicken if desired and mix back into the gravy. Serve hot over mashed potatoes or rice.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute Greek yogurt for the cream soup. Serve with steamed greens for added nutrition.
