Description

Deliciously crispy onion ring chips coated with Parmesan cheese, perfect as a snack or side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large sweet onions (e.g., Vidalia)
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Olive oil or vegetable oil for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Peel and slice the onions into thick rings, about half an inch thick.
  3. In a bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. In another bowl, beat the eggs.
  5. Dip each onion ring first in the seasoned flour, then into the egg mixture, and finally coat with the grated Parmesan cheese.
  6. Place the coated onion rings on a parchment-lined baking sheet, ensuring adequate space between them.
  7. Drizzle the rings lightly with oil.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and crispy.
  9. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce or enjoy on their own.

Notes

For a vegan option, substitute eggs with a flaxseed mixture and use nutritional yeast in place of Parmesan.
