Description
Deliciously crispy onion ring chips made keto-friendly with almond flour.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large onions (yellow or white)
- 1 cup almond flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Oil for frying (avocado or coconut)
Instructions
- Slice onions into thin rings, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Set up a breading station with almond flour mixed with garlic powder, paprika, and salt in one bowl, and beaten eggs in another bowl.
- Dip each onion ring in the egg, allowing excess to drip off, then coat in the almond flour mixture.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
- Fry onion rings in batches for 2-4 minutes per side until golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
- Sprinkle with salt while hot and serve warm. Optional: add lemon or hot sauce for an extra kick!
Notes
Ensure not to overcrowd the pan while frying for maximum crispiness.
