Description
A luscious and comforting sauce perfect for drenching pasta or drizzling over veggies, combining rich flavors of garlic and Parmesan.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1 pinch nutmeg
- Fresh parsley or basil, for garnish
Instructions
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
- Pour in the heavy cream, stirring gently. Bring to a simmer, avoiding boiling.
- Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until fully melted and creamy. Adjust consistency with reserved pasta water if needed.
- Season with salt, black pepper, and nutmeg. Add crushed red pepper flakes for heat if desired.
- Remove from heat and stir in fresh herbs for flavor and color.
- Serve immediately over pasta or roasted vegetables.
Notes
For a lighter sauce, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or dairy-free alternatives. Freshly grated cheese is recommended for best texture.
