Description

A delightful pie that combines the tartness of cranberries with a rich and creamy custard, perfect for any holiday gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh cranberries
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 pie crust (homemade or store-bought)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Rinse and sort fresh cranberries, removing any damaged ones.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine eggs and sugar, whisking until light and frothy. Add milk, vanilla extract, and melted butter, mixing well.
  4. Gently fold in the flour until smooth.
  5. Fold the cranberries into the custard mixture, ensuring even distribution.
  6. If using a pre-made pie crust, place it in a pie dish. If making homemade, roll out dough and crimp edges.
  7. Pour the filling into the prepared crust and bake for 45-55 minutes or until the custard is set.
  8. Allow to cool for at least one hour before serving.

Notes

Serve warm or chilled. If crust edges brown too quickly, cover with foil during baking.
