Description

A rich and creamy Italian dessert made with espresso-dipped ladyfingers and layers of mascarpone cheese.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup strong brewed espresso (cooled)
  • 8 oz mascarpone cheese
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • Optional: 2 tbsp coffee liqueur

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Coffee Mixture: Brew a strong cup of espresso and let it cool.
  2. Whip the Mascarpone: In a mixing bowl, whisk together mascarpone cheese and sugar until creamy.
  3. Whip Cream: In another bowl, whip heavy cream until soft peaks form. Fold into the mascarpone mixture.
  4. Assemble the Layers: Briefly dip ladyfingers in the cooled coffee and layer them in a serving dish. Spread half of the mascarpone cream on top and repeat.
  5. Dust with Cocoa: Generously sprinkle cocoa powder on top.
  6. Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
