- 24 ladyfingers
- 1 cup strong brewed espresso (cooled)
- 8 oz mascarpone cheese
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- Optional: 2 tbsp coffee liqueur
Instructions
- Prepare the Coffee Mixture: Brew a strong cup of espresso and let it cool.
- Whip the Mascarpone: In a mixing bowl, whisk together mascarpone cheese and sugar until creamy.
- Whip Cream: In another bowl, whip heavy cream until soft peaks form. Fold into the mascarpone mixture.
- Assemble the Layers: Briefly dip ladyfingers in the cooled coffee and layer them in a serving dish. Spread half of the mascarpone cream on top and repeat.
- Dust with Cocoa: Generously sprinkle cocoa powder on top.
- Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
