Description

A rich and creamy dip combining tangy cranberries with cream cheese, perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz full-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup fresh or canned cranberries
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 23 chopped green onions or chives
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Garlic powder or fresh garlic, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cranberries: If using fresh cranberries, rinse them and simmer in a small saucepan with a little water and sugar until they burst (about 5-10 minutes). Set aside to cool.
  2. Mix the base: In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese and sour cream; blend until creamy.
  3. Incorporate the cranberries: Gently fold in the cooled cranberry mixture into the cream cheese mixture.
  4. Add flavor: Mix in chopped green onions or herbs, and season with salt and pepper. Taste to adjust seasoning.
  5. Chill: Refrigerate for a couple of hours to meld flavors.
  6. Serve: Scoop into a serving bowl, optionally topping with nuts, and serve with crackers and veggies.

Notes

For a lighter version, consider low-fat cream cheese or use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream. Experiment with herbs for added flavor.
