Description
A family favorite dish that combines juicy chicken drumettes with zesty citrus and fragrant herbs, roasted to perfection.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds chicken drumettes
- 1 orange, zested and juiced
- 1 lemon, zested and juiced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- Pinch of red pepper flakes
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the zest and juice of orange and lemon, minced garlic, olive oil, chopped herbs, salt, and pepper. Add the drumettes and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight for deeper flavor.
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it. Spread the marinated drumettes evenly on the sheet, making sure they aren’t crowded.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches at least 165°F (75°C).
- Allow to rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with additional fresh herbs or citrus slices.
Notes
For extra crispy skin, broil for 2-3 minutes at the end of cooking. Use a meat thermometer to ensure proper doneness.
