Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon freshly grated lemon zest
- 1 tablespoon freshly grated orange zest
- 2 tablespoons brewed Earl Grey tea, cooled
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup caramelized white chocolate
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until pale and fluffy.
- Add the egg and citrus zest; mix on low until combined.
- Infuse the Earl Grey tea in hot water, let it cool, and stir into the mixture.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the caramelized white chocolate.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the baking sheets, leaving space between them.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden brown; centers should be slightly soft.
- Let cool on baking sheets before transferring to wire racks. Optionally drizzle with more caramelized white chocolate.
Notes
Use softened butter for the best texture and avoid overmixing the dough for tender cookies.
