- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar

- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Activate the yeast by mixing warm milk with sugar and yeast; let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and melted butter; add yeast mixture and stir until dough forms.
- Knead the dough for 5-10 minutes until smooth.
- Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled.
- Mix sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
- Roll dough into a rectangle, brush with melted butter, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, cut into strips, stack, and twist into cruffins.
- Place twisted dough in greased muffin tins; cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake cruffins for 18-22 minutes until golden brown.
- For the glaze, mix powdered sugar with vanilla extract and enough milk to reach drizzling consistency; drizzle over warm cruffins before serving.
Notes
Experiment with flavor by adding chocolate chips or fruit preserves. For dairy-free, use nut milk and coconut oil.
