Description
A nostalgic and comforting treat made with butter, sugar, and cinnamon on toast, perfect for breakfast or an afternoon snack.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 slices of bread (brioche, country, white, or whole grain)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (or brown/coconut sugar)
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- Optional toppings: honey, jam, fresh fruits, whipped cream, nuts
Instructions
- Gather your ingredients and set them on the counter.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) or heat a skillet over medium heat.
- In a small bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon in a 3:1 ratio to prepare your cinnamon sugar.
- Generously spread softened butter on each slice of bread.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the buttered bread slices.
- Toast in the oven for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, or cook for 2-3 minutes on each side in the skillet until golden brown.
- Serve warm with optional toppings.
Notes
Use room temperature butter for easy spreading. Day-old bread holds up better and absorbs flavors well.
