- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 cup brown sugar (for filling)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Beat until creamy and fluffy.
- Add the cream cheese, vanilla extract, and egg, and beat until smooth.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and cinnamon. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed just until combined.
- In a small bowl, mix together the cinnamon and brown sugar for the swirl filling.
- Drop a tablespoon of cookie dough onto the baking sheet, add a teaspoon of the cinnamon sugar mixture, and cover with another tablespoon of dough. Press down slightly.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are golden brown. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Optional: Drizzle with icing made from powdered sugar mixed with milk and vanilla extract.
Notes
For a vegan version, substitute butter with vegan butter and cream cheese with dairy-free options. For gluten-free, use a suitable blend.
