- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
- 1/4 cup maple syrup (for glaze)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (for glaze)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until bubbly.
- Add melted butter, eggs, and salt. Gradually add flour until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8 minutes and place it in a greased bowl to rise for 1 hour.
- In a small bowl, mix cinnamon, brown sugar, and chopped walnuts. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread softened butter, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Starting from one end, roll the dough into a tight log and cut into slices.
- Place rolls in a greased pan, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix butter and maple syrup for glaze; drizzle over warm buns after baking.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For a dairy-free version, substitute almond milk. You can use pecans instead of walnuts for variation.
