  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup (for glaze)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until bubbly.
  2. Add melted butter, eggs, and salt. Gradually add flour until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8 minutes and place it in a greased bowl to rise for 1 hour.
  4. In a small bowl, mix cinnamon, brown sugar, and chopped walnuts. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread softened butter, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  5. Starting from one end, roll the dough into a tight log and cut into slices.
  6. Place rolls in a greased pan, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Mix butter and maple syrup for glaze; drizzle over warm buns after baking.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, substitute almond milk. You can use pecans instead of walnuts for variation.
