Description

A festive and savory wreath made with crescent roll dough, filled with a delicious mix of sausage, fresh herbs, and cheese, perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • 1/4 cup fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the sausage, then drain excess grease.
  3. Combine the cooked sausage with chopped herbs and shredded cheese in a bowl.
  4. Unroll the crescent dough and lay it in a circle, overlapping slightly.
  5. At the junction of the dough triangles, spoon a generous amount of the sausage mixture and fold over to seal.
  6. Brush the wreath with beaten egg and sprinkle with salt, pepper, and extra herbs.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving warm.

Notes

For lighter options, consider using turkey sausage or plant-based sausage. Serve with a herbed yogurt dip or zesty cranberry sauce.
