Description
Delightful roll-ups made with sourdough, melty cheeses, and sautéed mushrooms, perfect for holiday gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups Sourdough Bread (freshly made or store-bought)
- 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese (shredded)
- 1 cup Provolone Cheese (shredded)
- 1 cup Mushrooms (button, cremini, or shiitake)
- 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Pepper
- Fresh Basil (for garnish)
- Fresh Oregano (for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Sourdough Dough: If using homemade dough, allow it to rest and rise. If using store-bought dough, follow the package instructions.
- Sauté the Mushrooms: In a skillet, warm the olive oil over medium heat. Add your cleaned mushrooms and sauté until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Add garlic during the last minute.
- Roll Out Your Dough: On a floured surface, stretch out the sourdough into a rectangle about ½ inch thick.
- Assemble Your Roll-Ups: Evenly distribute the sautéed mushrooms across the dough, followed by cheese and fresh herbs.
- Roll it Up: Carefully roll the dough starting from one end to the other, pinching the edges.
- Slice and Bake: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the roll into pieces and place on a greased baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Enjoy Joyfully: Serve warm, garnished with extra herbs and a side of marinara for dipping.
