Description

Delightful holiday cookies with a rich chocolate flavor and a sugary snowy finish, perfect for sharing with loved ones.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together unsalted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  4. Mix in eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Roll the dough into small balls and coat them in powdered sugar.
  8. Place on a lined baking sheet, leaving space between each ball.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are set.
  10. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For best results, do not skip the chilling step to prevent the cookies from spreading too much.
