Description

A delightful blend of sweet and savory with buttery saltine crackers, rich chocolate, and a caramel-like toffee.


Ingredients

  • 1 package saltine crackers
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Arrange saltine crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Melt together butter and brown sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat until bubbling, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  4. Pour the bubbling toffee over the crackers and spread evenly with a spatula.
  5. Bake for 5 minutes until bubbly but not dark.
  6. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee; let sit for 5 minutes to melt.
  7. Spread the melted chocolate and sprinkle with sea salt.
  8. Cool at room temperature, then refrigerate until fully set, about 1 hour, before breaking into pieces.
