- 1 package saltine crackers
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Arrange saltine crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- Melt together butter and brown sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat until bubbling, about 3 to 5 minutes.
- Pour the bubbling toffee over the crackers and spread evenly with a spatula.
- Bake for 5 minutes until bubbly but not dark.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee; let sit for 5 minutes to melt.
- Spread the melted chocolate and sprinkle with sea salt.
- Cool at room temperature, then refrigerate until fully set, about 1 hour, before breaking into pieces.
Notes
Allow the toffee to cool completely for the best crunch and texture.
