  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Optional toppings: chopped nuts or festive sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the Saltine crackers in a single layer.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly until it boils. Boil for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Carefully pour the hot toffee mixture over the crackers, covering evenly.
  5. Bake for 5-6 minutes, until the toffee is bubbling.
  6. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips over the hot toffee. Let sit for a few minutes to melt, then spread the melted chocolate evenly.
  7. Optional: sprinkle nuts or sprinkles on top before the chocolate sets.
  8. Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces.
