- Saltine crackers
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Optional toppings: chopped nuts or festive sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the Saltine crackers in a single layer.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly until it boils. Boil for 3-4 minutes.
- Carefully pour the hot toffee mixture over the crackers, covering evenly.
- Bake for 5-6 minutes, until the toffee is bubbling.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips over the hot toffee. Let sit for a few minutes to melt, then spread the melted chocolate evenly.
- Optional: sprinkle nuts or sprinkles on top before the chocolate sets.
- Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces.
