Description

Delicious Christmas cookies featuring the warm, earthy flavors of nutmeg, perfect for the holiday season.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Beat in the egg, followed by the vanilla, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, nutmeg, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the baking sheets, leaving space for spreading.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

Chill the dough for about 30 minutes for better flavor melding and shape retention.
