Ingredients

- 1 cup dark chocolate (for melting)
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour)
- 1 cup granulated sugar (or coconut sugar)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 3 large eggs (or flax/chia eggs for vegan)
- 1/2 cup butter (or unsweetened applesauce)
- 1 cup cherries (fresh or jarred)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (for coating)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a square baking pan.
- Melt the dark chocolate and butter in a bowl until smooth.
- Add granulated and brown sugar, whisking to combine.
- Incorporate eggs one at a time, whisking vigorously.
- In another bowl, mix cocoa powder, flour, and salt, then fold into the wet mixture.
- Gently stir in the cherries.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
- Allow to cool completely, then cut into shapes.
- Dip shapes in melted chocolate and chill for 30 minutes to set.
Notes
Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor and be careful not to overmix the batter.
