Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 8 oz dark chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ cup butter (for caramel)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust: In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed graham crackers and melted butter. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom and sides of a pie dish. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 8-10 minutes until golden. Let it cool completely.
  2. Make the chocolate filling: In a saucepan, melt the chocolate over low heat, stirring until smooth. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Fold half of the whipped cream into the melted chocolate gently, then fold in the remaining cream.
  3. Prepare the caramel sauce: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the sugar until it turns golden brown. Remove from heat and add butter and a pinch of salt. Allow it to cool slightly before pouring over the chocolate filling.
  4. Assemble the pie: Spread the chocolate filling evenly over the cooled crust. Drizzle the caramel sauce generously over the top.
  5. Chill and serve: Refrigerate the pie for at least 240 minutes or overnight for the best flavor. Garnish with whipped cream or chocolate shavings if desired.

Notes

Use quality chocolate for the best flavor. Can substitute graham crackers with crushed Oreos for a twist.
