Description
Delicious and warm Buttery Soft Pretzel Bites, perfect for gatherings or a cozy snack, reminiscent of joyful family moments.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour (or gluten-free blend)
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water (110°F)
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons melted butter (plus extra for brushing)
- Coarse sea salt (for topping)
- 2 tablespoons baking soda (for boiling)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast over the top and let it rest for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- In another bowl, combine flour and salt. Gradually add the yeast mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until it forms a rough dough.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead it for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rise until it doubles in size—about 1 hour.
- Punch the dough down, and divide it into golf ball-sized pieces. Roll each piece into a rope and twist it into a pretzel shape.
- Bring a large pot of water to a gentle boil and add baking soda. Drop the pretzel bites into the boiling water for about 30 seconds, then remove with a slotted spoon.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Place the boiled bites on a lined baking sheet. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with sea salt. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let them cool slightly, then serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.
