Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, sliced against the grain
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup mushrooms (shiitake or cremini), sliced
- 2 sprigs fresh thyme or rosemary, chopped
- Salt, to taste

Instructions
- Prepare the Ingredients: Slice the beef against the grain into thin strips. Chop the garlic and herbs, and clean your mushrooms.
- Brown the Butter: In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter until golden brown, stirring gently.
- Sear the Beef: Add the beef in a single layer and sear for about 2-3 minutes per side until beautifully browned. Remove and set aside.
- Sauté the Mushrooms and Garlic: In the same skillet, add the garlic and mushrooms, cooking until mushrooms soften (about 5 minutes).
- Combine and Season: Return the beef to the skillet, mix with mushrooms and garlic. Add herbs, salt, and pepper to taste. Stir for another minute.
- Serve: Plate the beef fry over garlic mashed potatoes or steamed rice.
Notes
