- 1 cup unsalted butter (for browning)
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup bourbon
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 cup chocolate chunks
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat until golden brown and nutty. Let cool.
- In a bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together cooled brown butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
- Add eggs one at a time, whisking until fully incorporated.
- Gradually stir in the flour mixture until just combined.
- Fold in bourbon, chopped pecans, and chocolate chunks.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Scoop dough onto a lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden around the edges. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For a non-alcoholic version, swap bourbon for vanilla extract. Chilling the dough enhances flavor and texture.
