  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup bourbon
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup chocolate chunks

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat until golden brown and nutty. Let cool.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together cooled brown butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, whisking until fully incorporated.
  5. Gradually stir in the flour mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in bourbon, chopped pecans, and chocolate chunks.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Scoop dough onto a lined baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden around the edges. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For a non-alcoholic version, swap bourbon for vanilla extract. Chilling the dough enhances flavor and texture.
