- 2 tablespoons brandy
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt

- 3/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup malt powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Combine the sliced strawberries with sugar and brandy; toss to coat and set aside to macerate.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Cut in butter until resembling coarse crumbs.
- Stir in heavy cream until just combined, then turn onto a floured surface, patting into a 1-inch thick rectangle and cutting into rounds.
- Place rounds on baking sheet; bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Meanwhile, whip heavy cream with malt powder and vanilla until soft peaks form.
- Once shortcakes cool, slice in half, layer with strawberries, and top with malted whipped cream. Serve immediately.
