Ingredients

- 1 lb sirloin or flank steak, sliced into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup fresh pineapple, cut into bite-sized chunks
- 2 tbsp black peppercorns, cracked
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (low-sodium if preferred)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
- 1 onion, sliced (sweet or green onions)
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil (grapeseed or canola)
Instructions
- Marinate the beef in soy sauce, minced garlic, and half of the cracked black pepper for 15-30 minutes.
- Prepare pineapple by cutting it into bite-sized chunks.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the vegetable oil.
- Cook the marinated beef in batches until browned (2-3 minutes) and set aside.
- Sauté minced garlic, ginger, and onions in the same skillet until fragrant (1-2 minutes).
- Add pineapple pieces and sauté until caramelized (2-3 minutes).
- Return the beef to the skillet, mix with pineapple and aromatics. Stir-fry for another minute.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, then serve hot.
Notes
Don’t overcrowd the pan during cooking for better caramelization. Fresh ingredients enhance flavor significantly.
