Black Pepper Parmesan Pasta Twirls

  • Author: sara
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

A comforting dish featuring flavorful twirls of pasta coated in a rich garlic and black pepper sauce with Parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz Pasta Twirls (fusilli or rotini)
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 12 tbsp Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 cup Freshly Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Begin by boiling a large pot of salted water. Add your pasta twirls and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve about a cup of pasta water, then drain.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter and a splash of olive oil. Once bubbling, add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant—about 30 seconds.
  3. Gradually stir in freshly ground black pepper, adjusting to your desired spice level.
  4. Toss in the drained pasta twirls and mix well, ensuring the black pepper and garlic coat every piece.
  5. Gradually sprinkle in grated Parmesan while adding reserved pasta water a little at a time to emulsify the sauce.
  6. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with additional black pepper and extra Parmesan if desired.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, substitute Parmesan with nutritional yeast. Feel free to use gluten-free pasta or zoodles for a lighter twist.
