Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and baking soda.
  3. In another bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well incorporated.
  5. Gradually combine the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring gently.
  6. Fold in the cherries and chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Scoop mounds of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for about 10-12 minutes until the edges look firm but the centers remain soft.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
