A delightful dessert combining fresh berries with a crispy caramelized sugar topping, reminiscent of childhood memories.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for topping)
  • Whipped cream (for serving)
  • Optional: fresh mint or basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the berries with granulated sugar and melted butter. Toss gently.
  3. Transfer the berry mixture to a small baking dish or ramekins and spread evenly.
  4. Bake for 10-15 minutes until the berries are bubbling.
  5. Remove from oven and sprinkle sugar on top.
  6. Caramelize the sugar using a kitchen torch or broil for 1-2 minutes, watching closely.
  7. Let cool slightly, then serve warm with whipped cream.

Notes

Berries can be substituted with seasonal fruits. Use frozen berries if fresh ones aren’t available, ensuring they are thawed and drained.
