- 4–5 ripe bananas, mashed
- 8 ounces dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa), melted
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- ½ cup brown sugar (or maple syrup/agave)
- 2 large eggs
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, mash the bananas until smooth (about 1.5 to 2 cups).
- Melt the dark chocolate with the unsalted butter in a double boiler or microwave until just melted.
- Add the melted chocolate and butter mixture to the mashed bananas; beat in the sugar and eggs until well combined.
- Grease a 9-inch square baking pan and pour the mixture in evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing into squares and serve warm with vanilla ice cream or heavy cream.
Notes
For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding chopped nuts or chocolate chips to the mixture. Allow to cool for at least 15-20 minutes before serving for enhanced flavors.
